A n Airbus A320-232 aircraft operating as EgyptAir flight 804 from Paris was at an altitude of approximately 37,000 feet over the Mediterranean Sea when it suddenly disappeared from radar on approach to its destination in Cairo.
The aircraft departed from Paris at 11:09 in the evening local time.
According to the official Twitter feed of EgyptAir, “an informed source at EGYPTAIR stated that Flight no MS804,which departed Paris at 23:09 (CEST), heading to Cairo has disappeared from radar.”

According to the official Twitter feed from the Associated Press, “EgyptAir says Airbus A320 Flight 804 carrying 59 passengers and 10 crew disappeared from radar early Thursday morning.”

The number was later corrected to 56 passengers.
