I am sitting here at John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York; and I just heard an announcement over the public address system that a complete ground stop is now in effect in Atlanta due to the snowstorm which is currently affecting the southeastern United States.
If you are traveling to or from Atlanta over the next 18 hours, you may want to rethink your travel plans and minimize inconvenience to you.
Although I will be here for approximately seven hours, it certainly beats being stuck in Atlanta and missing my connecting flight, which is on a completely different itinerary on a completely different airline.
Internet access is not free of charge here at this airport — at least, it is not supposed to be free — but I found out about a little trick which gives me Internet access which actually works. Internet access should be free of charge at airports, in my opinion — especially here in New York.
Anyway, I found myself a cozy little spot near gate B38 in Terminal 4 to relax while I await my flight, as I will not have access to any airport lounges on this trip.
…and the big news currently is that three suspects from Brooklyn were arrested here at the airport for the plotting of a potential domestic terror attack.
Anyway, I thankfully escaped Atlanta successfully…
…now on to South Africa…
