J ohn Noble reportedly placed a gun to his head and pulled the trigger near the Studio B Buffet at the M Resort Spa and Casino Las Vegas, committing suicide and causing the buffet — as well as the garage and part of the resort itself due to a fire from his car — to be shut down for approximately seven hours on Sunday evening, April 5, 2015.
The suicide was witnessed by many people — including children — who were out to enjoy a night out in celebration of the Easter holiday. A girl who was 13 years of age recalled how “she saw the man lying on the ground with a pool of blood surrounding his salt-and-pepper hair”, according to this article written by Ricardo Torres and Wesley Juhl of the Las Vegas Review-Journal.
Noble — who was 53 years old — “blamed his suicide on depression that set in after the Henderson resort awarded him free meals at the buffet for life then banned him from the property in 2013 for harassing some of the women working there”, according to this article written by Henry Brean, also of the Las Vegas Review-Journal.
Firefighters of Henderson — a city just south of Las Vegas where the resort and casino property is located — were already at the parking garage of the resort extinguishing a burning vehicle which reportedly belonged to Noble and contained unidentified objects as he committed suicide.
Noble was reportedly banned from the resort and casino property approximately a week after the death of his mother, who died two years ago.
Employees of the M Resort Spa and Casino Las Vegas — which proudly proclaims on its official Internet web site that its guest are not charged resort fees — are being offered grief counseling as a result of the incident.
