A fter I was dropped off at the Medical Station stop on the Red Line of the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority Metro, I switched trains at the Metro Center station to catch the Silver Line to the end, which is the Wiehle-Reston East station in the middle of Virginia State Highway 267 — also known as the Dulles Access Road or the Dulles Toll Road.
I walked across the westbound lanes of the highway to the bus terminal to catch the Dulles International Airport Silver Line Express. At five dollars for a trip of approximately seven miles which takes 15 or so minutes, I thought that that fare was a little high — but it served its purpose.
I arrived at the airport two hours early. I was initially concerned because the forecast originally called for snow; then heavy rain; then just rain. The weather turned out to not only be merely cloudy; but the sun has been peeking out — as you can see in the the photograph shown at the top of this article, as I am currently at Gate 76 on the B Concourse of Washington Dulles International Airport awaiting my flight to…
…Atlanta. Yes — where I started out on my Megabus trip a few days ago.
I was eligible for the Transportation Security Administration Pre✓ line; which could not have gone any smoother — except if there was no airport security checkpoint at all. Yes, it was that easy — especially because the airport was incredibly quiet.
I like when that happens.
By the way, thank you for suggesting the 5A bus line; but it was out of the way for the person who drove me to the Medical Center Metro station.
Next stop: Atlanta…
