I f you have managed to log into your SkyMiles frequent flier loyalty program account at the official Internet web site of Delta Air Lines using your personal identification number recently, note that those days are over, as you are now required to use a password.
Originally, the changeover from a personal identification number to a password was not supposed to happen until the end of the year; but it is now in effect as of today as evidenced by this screen shot:
Not that this change is either bad or good — it is meant to improve the security of your SkyMiles frequent flier loyalty program account, as the former personal identification number only contained four digits whereas the new password requires a minimum of six characters — but consider it as yet another change which occurred sooner than expected with no advanced warning…
…and when I say no advanced warning, I am referring to the change occurring sooner than expected — not for the actual change from a personal identification number to a password, as there was plenty of advanced notice for that particular announcement.
