Within 90 minutes of entering the Masai Mara National Reserve in Kenya, the first lions were spotted — well…not spotted like leopards and cheetahs, but rather sighted — by us in the late afternoon sun on the first part of the safari; and this fellow apparently only had one eye.

He was with his lioness, who appeared to be his “pride” and joy.
