In reference to the recent announcement of American Airlines filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy, Spirit Airlines “marked a new chapter in Dallas/Fort Worth’s history as it announced service to four new markets from DFW with $11 fares.”
Get it? Chapter? 11? Chapter 11?
You do not need to be a member of the $9 fare club to take advantage of this promotion, which is only valid today.
There is speculation that this new service may have something to do with Southwest Airlines pulling AirTran from these markets due to the Wright Amendment, but that has not been confirmed.
The destinations Spirit Airlines will serve from Dallas/Fort Worth are Atlanta, Boston, New York and Orlando. The complete total round-trip airfare between Dallas/Fort Worth and Atlanta is $43.40 — that is, if you do not get thirsty and purchase drinks for $3.00 or pay $20.00 for carry-on baggage which does not fit under the seat in front of you.
If you do not mind being a passenger on a spartan low-fare airline that charges fees for just about anything other than the flight itself, you have a small carry-on bag and will not get thirsty or hungry — and earning miles is not important to you — then consider taking advantage of this low-cost promotion. Hurry, though, as the promotion is only valid today until one minute before midnight.
