T here is a hotel property which charges as much as €300.00 — or roughly $370.00, which is almost triple the rate of some of the rooms — for Wi-Fi at a speed of 50 megabits per second in order to access the Internet for a duration of up to 24 hours, according to this article at HotelChatter…
…and that hotel property is the Hôtel Majestic Barrière in Cannes.
To be fair, there are also slower speeds of Wi-Fi with which you can access the Internet: low speed for nine Euros; and medium speed for €300.00.
All of the rate are supposedly “clearly written” on the main “page” when clients connect to the Wi-Fi system. Well, I suppose that is some comfort.
As I wrote earlier today: as long as there are people who are willing to pay this fee for high-speed Wi-Fi for Internet access, it will continue to be available.
