Summary
Not only is Priority Pass a division of The Collinson Group; but The Club is also a part of the Airport Lounge Development division of The Collinson Group.
The Club Aspire lounges at London Heathrow Airport and London Gatwick Airport appear to be exempt from the aforementioned restriction.
“This is the same rule that American Express introduced to Centurion lounges on March 22nd, 2019”, according to this article written by William Charles of Doctor of Credit. “As more credit cards add lounge access, overcrowding has become a real issue at most lounges. I’ve personally advocated for offering guaranteed entries vs restricting access in this matter as I don’t see why somebody that travels once or twice a year should have a 3 hour prior to departure rule added when other users are utilizing the lounge multiple times per day or week.”
That is an interesting point — but I must admit that while I appreciate having access to airport lounges as a member of Priority Pass, I have not been impressed with the offerings at many of The Club lounge locations at which I have visited; and I cannot imagine myself wanting to spend greater than three hours at them.
That especially includes the arguably mediocre The Club ATL. Three hours in that crowded airport lounge with subpar food and beverage offerings would be at my absolute limit anyway…
