What is Wrong With This Photograph? Part 71: Reader Edition
While in the parking lot of a store of a major retailer recently, NB_ga noticed that the vehicle in the above photograph did not have a driver in it…
…rather, the vehicle was actually parked in the incorrect orientation of a parking spot which is reserved for qualified people who are disabled, as the rear end of the vehicle was blocking part of the access road of the parking lot on which motorists drive…
…and to worsen matters, a pickup truck parked in the wrong orientation in that same parking spot moments later.

What is Wrong With This Photograph? Part 72: Reader Edition
While waiting for the insurance paperwork for the car to be repaired after it had been in an accident, an anonymous reader of The Gate took a photograph of a sign which had Courtsey Vehicles printed on it instead of Courtesy Vehicles for people to drive while their vehicles are being repaired.
Favorite answer by derek: “That is a desk, not a vehicle. And it not a courtsey vehicle but they probably claim it’s a courtesy vehicle.”
Favorite comment by Kevin: “The ladies outfit does not match the desk and the wires are all stung around the front we’re people can see it not a pleasent sight lol”
What is Wrong With This Photograph? Part 73: Reader Edition
This sign may be for pilots who cannot see, as implied by the Braille characters on this sign which was photographed by Pat Baird — who is a reader of The Gate — and located at what is thought to be London Heathrow Airport. Of course, that is not the case; but it seems similar to finding Braille on a sign in an elevator which is dedicated to a parking garage.
Favorite answer by Milton w Berg: “The Braille is to notify the visually impaired that this lounge is not for them but it is for pilots only. If the Braille was not there then a blind person might think this is the passenger lounge. This sign makes much sense. It gives the same message it gives to non handclapped non pilots. Do not enter this lounge since it is for pilots only.”
Favorite comment by Stan Scanlon: “It’s amazing to me how the vast majority of the 19 responses so far do not say what is wrong with this sign, but only try to justify it’s existence or ridicule it (which seems silly and insensitive). This is my first encounter with this “What’s wrong with this picture?” and I took the challenge seriously. Taking three minutes to use a Braille translator on-line, the only two correct and sensible replies to the actual challenge came from Judith Dickson and (a bit more cleverly) from R Tisdale (“Palot.” Funny!). So the answer seems to be, “Pilot” is spelled “Palot” in the Braille. That’s what’s wrong. Best part for me: I learned something new. I now know a little about how Braille lettering / alphabet is formed, and I will take some time to study it further. It looks like it might be interesting and perhaps useful to learn this new way of reading. Thanks!”
What is Wrong With This Photograph? Part 74: Reader Edition
During the time to wait for an order of food to be taken out earlier this year at a restaurant, an anonymous reader of The Gate may still be trying to figure out what is a coronoius and why it has to go — although we suspect that it is meant to refer to the 2019 Novel Coronavirus.
Favorite answer by AlohaDaveKennedy: “Don’t recognize one of those musical notes, but that word “coronoius” certainly takes you to top stories for the Corona Virus on Googloius.”

What is Wrong With This Photograph? Part 75: Reader Edition
To protect the privacy of the motorist of the white car in the photograph which was taken by an anonymous reader of The Gate while stationary in traffic on an off ramp from a highway in New Orleans earlier this year, the numbers and letters on the license plate were removed…
…but the number 90 — which is supposed to be in the otherwise blank white shields on the overhead highway signs — was conspicuously missing and could potentially confuse motorists who are not familiar with the area.
Favorite answer by swag: “Well, the route numbers are missing from the signs, but then the license plate is also blank, so maybe this is a privacy-edit glitch? But this should show US-90 West and US-90 Business West, and fun fact, as a local I can tell you that at this point, 90 Business West is actually heading Eastward. We don’t really use North, South, East and West in this city.”
Favorite comment by Aowens: “The sign showing the direction to Tulane University is turned and not visible to drivers.”
