In past articles in which your participation was not only requested but also helpful and humorous, I did not give the answers to questions which I have posed to you; so this article contains the answers to past articles — Part 42 — along with links to the aforementioned articles…
Answers to Past Articles — Part 42: Reader Edition
…and the links are embedded in the titles of each section as well as within the sections themselves; so please click on the links in each section to take you to the original article — and this edition is entirely comprised of photographs which were contributed by readers of The Gate With Brian Cohen.
The Favorite Answer will usually be the correct answer by a reader of The Gate With Brian Cohen — along with a Favorite Comment from the same article which I found to be funny or informative.
What is Wrong With This Photograph? Part 206: Reader Edition
While shopping in a supermarket recently, NB_ga — who is a reader of The Gate With Brian Cohen — spotted this display of items that were on sale near the entrance. Apparently, Dr Pepper is now also known as Pure Leaf Tea.
Well, at least when you buy two of them, you get one free — no matter what they are called.
Favorite answer and comment by GUWonder: “‘Clean up in aisle 9.’
“Since when did Dr Pepper get marked as pure leaf tea?
“It’s safe to presume this isn’t a Lidl grocery store in North Dakota.”
What is Wrong With This Photograph? Part 207: Reader Edition
At Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport, an anonymous reader of The Gate With Brian Cohen looked out the window while waiting for a flight and took the following photograph, finding the view rather amusing: palm trees surrounding an airplane that is operated by Alaska Airlines.
Favorite answer by Thomas Richard Potter.: “I just thought that the Eskimo looks rather pleased to be looking at a palm tree.
Although, given the recent temps in Phoenix lately, It may be a reaction to heat rash.”
Favorite comment by Tom P.: “Looks like the wing lights (e.g. to check for ice) are on (the bright dot at the right end of the horizontal part of the capital “A” in Alaska)”
What is Wrong With This Photograph? Part 208: Reader Edition
While waiting to be seated at a local restaurant recently, Mi Rojo Muerta — who is a reader of The Gate With Brian Cohen and claims to enjoy getting Susto-nance at this Mexican eatery very much — spotted this sign near the entrance which offers rewards to customers who register for their membership program. People may actually bellow below when scanning the code for a free dessert.
Favorite answer by Peter Sander: “‘Bellow’ is also wrong, but that’s not the point here.
“You should get delicious treats every time you visit, but the whole point above is that you’ll get a free desert on your next visit. What about the current visit?”
Favorite comment by Jim F.: “The easy way to remember the difference between ‘dessert’ (the after-dinner treat) and ‘desert’ (a sandy expanse [as a noun] or to abandon [as a verb]) is that a ‘dessert’ is Sweet Stuff (double letter ‘s’).”
What is Wrong With This Photograph? Part 209: Reader Edition
At a restaurant which specializes in food from Louisiana, BLT — who is a reader of The Gate With Brian Cohen — spotted this poster while dining and decided to photograph it, thinking that something was off about it: the image was more like a lobster and less like a crawfish.
Favorite answer by derek: “The mural shows a lobster, not a crawfish. It looks like an American lobster and not the kind found in Australia and the Pacific. A crawfish in Louisiana has slightly different claws and is much smaller than a lobster.”
Favorite comment by Jim F.: “Also interesting…assuming this photo was taken inside the Louisiana Shack in Lawrenceville, GA…there’s not a single lobster item on the menu. And why did a seafood restaurant NE of Atlanta choose to use ‘Louisiana’ in its name?”
What is Wrong With This Photograph? Part 210: Reader Edition
An anonymous reader of The Gate With Brian Cohen spotted this paper which was posted to the wall of a restroom of an Applebee’s restaurant and photographed it. Apparently, it is supposed to be cleaned and disinfected at least three times per day; but the chart shows that it had only been cleaned and disinfected twice per day at the most.
Favorite answer by Jim F.: “Hmmm…‘This restroom is cleaned and disinfected AT LEAST 3 times per day.’ It appears to have only been cleaned (and disinfected?) 2 times per day on the days shown. Maybe Applebee’s is taking their cue from hotel housekeeping practices….”
