In past articles in which your participation was not only requested but also helpful and humorous, I did not give the answers to questions which I have posed to you; so this article contains the answers to past articles — Part 51 — along with links to the aforementioned articles…

The correct name of the airline is Delta Air Lines — not Delta Airlines — which is ironic, considering that the new chief executive officer of Hertz was once the chief operating officer of Delta Air Lines.
Favorite answer and comment by derek: “What is odd is that the press release is dated March 15, announcing a change in leadership on April 1. It then reads that the two guys ‘will work together over the next few weeks…’ implying that they are not working together now.
“That means they have only 2 weeks to work together unless the old guy sticks around.
“It mentions Gil’s success at Delta. Gil West hasn’t been at Delta since 2020. He was fired as CEO of GM’s Cruise because of safety problems. Gil may be a good guy and even good CEO pick but his record is far from stellar.”

Interestingly — although three parking spots are on the outside of this area for the parking meters — enough space seems to be available for additional parking while still simultaneously serving the purpose of directing traffic.
This setup seems like a colossal waste of land.
Favorite answer by Jerrix: “What’s wrong? Multi-modal vision zero urbanist planning crap. I can just see the PowerPoint deck lauding the ‘improvements’ to Truman road because they made the crossing distance shorter so it’s ‘safer’ and this is what you end up with.”
Favorite comment by swag: “Maybe nothing wrong? At first glance, you’ve got parking meters where there’s no way for a car to park at the curb. But on closer inspection, the painted lines on the left of the photos, on the far side of the bollards, designate three parking spaces. (Verified on google street view, thanks for including the location). So those three meters are to pay for parking in those three slightly-far-away spots.”

Portions of Maryland that are considered as part of the suburbs of the District of Columbia experienced unusually severe weather: a tornado was confirmed near Gaithersburg, which was one of 13 tornadoes that impacted Maryland, Virginia, and West Virginia on Wednesday, June 5, 2024, as confirmed by the National Weather Service of the United States. Structures were damaged; but thankfully, no fatalities were reported from this dangrous tornado.
Either dangrous is a new meteorological term; or this tornado was named after some guy named Dan Grous.
Favorite answer and comment by rmah: “at least rous wasn’t damned, just danged.”

This photograph was taken on Interstate 22 and United States Highway 78 in Mississippi on my way back from being the first ever guest of a Caption by Hyatt hotel property. You can read the complete review of my experience of being a guest at the Caption by Hyatt Beale Street Memphis hotel property in this article…
…but judging by the way the shields for Mississippi State Highway 4 and Mississippi State Highway 7 were bizarrely placed on the sign, the state apparently did not feel the need to conform with the standards as set by the Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices of the Department of Transportation of the United States.
I am curious as to the logic of how the spots on the sign to place those shields were chosen…
…and I decided to contribute to the insanity in this article by spelling the name of the state Missississississippi — just for fun.
Favorite answer by Lashundra Wooten: “For what I see is the sign only leading you to one direction. Like where is the other area that let you know that Holly spring keeps straight up 78 and off turns off on between 6 and hwy 7. Oxford does comes before Holly spring.”
Favorite comment by swag: “Editors still debate this point, but I’m a firm believer that there should be an Oxford comma.”

Although it is far from perfect, GasBuddy is a tool I use often simply because it saves me money on gasoline — more often than not…
…but what is the GasBuddy Appp? Is that used for finding fuel stations where one can also p?
Favorite answer by rmah: “they’ve taken it one step beyond tinkling and urinating because they’ve gone to pp and another p with ‘appp’. also, i would like to state that there are no states in canada.”
Favorite comment by Gary Steiger – FreeFrequentFlyerMiles.com: “Gas? Do they mean gasoline? I cook and heat with gas.”
