A man was shot after reportedly entered the grounds of the Parliament and stabbed a police officer; while a car plowed into the railings on Westminster Bridge, running over people and killing one woman, according to this article at BBC News.
Parliament on Lockdown
The Houses of Parliament are reportedly on lockdown after the stabbing and shooting incident.
The public is being urged to stay away from the area around Westminster to allow for emergency services to have access to the immediate area. Westminster Station of the Underground has been closed at the request of police; and buses have been diverted away from the area.
The number of casualties is unknown at this time — the casualties include police officers — but at least ten people have been treated for injuries. A woman was reportedly pulled from the River Thames near the bridge and was being treated for serious injuries. Other injuries have been described as either minor or “catastrophic”.
Authorities are treating this as a terror incident, as a “full counter-terrorism inquiry” is under way.
