…then after entering the departure airport and destination airport, select two seats in the business class cabin for a departure date during the promotion period.

To test this promotion, I selected a sample itinerary originating in Frankfurt to New York on Wednesday, April 10, 2019 in business class with the return flight on Wednesday, April 17, 2019 — and sure enough, the total airfare for two passengers is indeed 2,996.46 euros.

Availability was plentiful at the time this article was written.

Important to note is that I used the Internet web site of Lufthansa for Germany and not the one for the United States, for if you tried to book the same exact itinerary from the Internet web site of Lufthansa for the United States…

Select Terms and Conditions

Prices may vary from other departure airports within Germany. The displayed prices may vary and serve as a guide for the selected journey. The final price is subject to change depending on the selected payment option. Seat availability is limited and may not be available on some days or on some flights. The fare may only be available during a special travel time and may not be available during holidays or other peak travel times or seasons. Fares include applicable fees, taxes and airport charges. Baggage might not be included in the final price. Additional baggage fees may apply. The fare might not be refundable or changeable.

Other terms and conditions may apply — including but not limited to minimum stay, maximum stay and advance booking period requirements.

The currency conversion from 2,996.46 euros works out to almost $3,380.00 in United States dollars, which means that each person can travel from Germany to New York round trip seated in the business class cabin for approximately $1,690.00 in total. Although that is not at the level of a mistake fare, that is also not a bad airfare at all, as you are saving 1310.00 euros — or almost $1,480.00.

If you have any airfares or other information which you would like to share to be posted in a future article here at The Gate, please contact me by either leaving a note in the Comments section below; or fill out the following contact form and click on the Submit button once you are finished and ready to send your information.
