Daily Getaways has been discontinued by the U.S. Travel Association effective as of October 31, 2024 — so if you were hoping for another round of deals for 2025, you are out of luck.
Daily Getaways Has Been Discontinued
The program has been discontinued and per the program terms and conditions all sales are final as of 10/31/2024
For between two weeks and three weeks out of each year with a new deal posted each day, the Daily Getaways program offered exclusive travel deals to consumers at a discount of as much as 50 percent to provide consumers with the opportunity to enjoy the best destinations, hotel and resort properties, and attractions across the United States. The U.S. Travel Association partnered with travel companies to offer exclusive experiences and significant savings on such items as loyalty program points, stays at hotel and resort properties, rental cars, tickets for attractions, and more from at least 20 companies — such as Marriott, Hilton, InterContinental Hotels Group, and SeaWorld Parks and Entertainment, to name only four examples.
U.S. Travel Association is the national, non-profit organization representing all components of the travel industry that generates $2.3 trillion in economic output and supports 15.3 million jobs. The mission of U.S. Travel Association is to increase travel to and within the United States; and the Daily Getaways event has occurred almost every year for at least 15 years.
The main problem with Daily Getaways is that the best deals sold out almost immediately — as though they were the combination of a radio call-in contest and a lottery combined — meaning that the best deals were virtually impossible to secure; while the most unpopular deals remained unsold.
The Daily Getaways program was actually a fundraiser whose proceeds went to “support mission-critical travel advocacy and program initiatives” of U.S. Travel Association.
The actual reasons for why the Daily Getaways program will no longer continue have not been officially disclosed.
Final Boarding Call
I had never purchased anything from Daily Getaways; so I personally will not be missing this program now that it is extinct — but many readers of The Gate With Brian Cohen were interested in the deals that were offered daily and will probably miss what was once an annual event.
