Greater than three years after the completion of the acquisition of RLH Corporation by Sonesta International Hotels Corporation on Wednesday, March 17, 2021, the expanded Sonesta Travel Pass membership program was introduced effective as of Monday, June 3, 2024 with both the immediate integration of almost 1,100 hotel and resort properties in eight countries and the launch of a sweepstakes through which you could have a chance to win one million Travel Pass points.
Expanded Sonesta Travel Pass Membership Program Introduced
The 13 brands which participate in the Sonesta Travel Pass membership program include:

- The Royal Sonesta
- Signature Inn

Additional, the Sonesta Travel Pass membership program was expanded from three membership tiers to four membership tiers — and renamed the existing tiers — which include the benefits shown in the chart below.
The growth of Sonesta was rather unconventional, as it rapidly expanded by almost 1,328 percent from only 77 hotel properties and three cruises in August of 2020 to almost 1,100 hotel and resort properties in fewer than only four years — by acquiring hotel properties via terminations of the agreements between Service Properties Trust and InterContinental Hotels Group; Marriott International, Incorporated; and Hyatt Hotels Corporation.
Meanwhile, Red Lion had earned the distinction of being the most confusing lodging company in 2019 due to its own bizarre history prior to its acquisition two years later by Sonesta International Hotels Corporation.

Final Boarding Call
I have never stayed at a hotel or resort property which is currently in the brand portfolio of Sonesta International Hotels Corporation; so I cannot comment on the lodging company itself — but I have no plans at this time to stay at any of their hotel or resort properties or join the Sonesta Travel Pass membership program.
