The first day of spring starts at the spring equinox tomorrow, Monday, March 20, 2023 at 5:24 in the afternoon Eastern Daylight Time in the northern hemisphere — and what better way is there to herald its arrival but with colorful flowers?
Flowers Spring 2023: Sunday Morning Photograph
Many places in the northern hemisphere will soon be awash in blankets of vibrant yellows, greens, reds, violets, oranges, blues, and lavenders, which remind us that the bleak and drab winter season is leaving for another year — and along with the fragrant scents of flowers comes warmer temperatures, longer days than nights, the budding of leaves on the trees, and the sprouting of fruits and vegetables and herbs.
Final Boarding Call
One amazing aspect about travel is if you do not want to celebrate the arrival of spring, you can always head south past the equator and the Tropic of Capricorn to the southern hemisphere, where autumn begins; and you can eventually feel the cooler weather as the leaves begin to fall after changing colors.
