During a stopover in Turkey — which is now known officially as the Republic of Türkiye — I had a chance to visit the Grand Bazaar in Istanbul. As far as the eye can see inside of this legendary place was a sea of humanity milling about.

Something bizarre in this photograph of the Grand Bazaar caught my attention. Perhaps it was the plethora of Turkish flags that adorned both sides of the main corridor? Could it be the expressions on the faces of the people? Was it the composition of the photograph itself; or the role that the depth of field played in it? Maybe it was a combination of all of the above?
As an example of the other photographs which I took, the photograph shown below just does not have quite the same panache.
