“Thanks Fredd(s) and ditto but hope to catch up in Sydney.”
What you just read was what FlyerTalk member Pooch posted in the Community Buzz forum on Monday, March 14, 2018 at 6:16 in the evening Eastern Daylight Time — and that became the last time she posted on FlyerTalk.
In Memoriam: Pooch
Pooch responded to Fredd, who posted that he will miss her after she posted the following then-cryptic message three days prior to posting her final content on FlyerTalk:
With apologies for late notice, please downgrade me to bronze … Unexpected circumstances preclude my attendance. I do hope to catch up with many of you in SYD either pre- or post- Do.
Enjoy Newcastle,
Regards,
Pooch
FlyerTalk member Margoz had announced the sad news that she passed away during the last full weekend in June of 2018:
Very sad to let Ozfest regulars know that Robyn aka “Pooch” passed away this weekend after a long battle with cancer.
Pooch attended Ozfest 2005 in Hobart through to 2013 in Perth and kept in contact with a number of Flyertalkers beyond Ozfest..
She will be sadly missed.
RIP Pooch
Having first joined FlyerTalk as a member on Monday, November 13, 2006, Pooch posted content a total of 440 times and participated in a variety of forums.
Summary
I did not know Pooch personally nor have I ever met her or communicated with her; but the loss of a FlyerTalk member is still sad for me. I really dislike having to mourn another fellow frequent flier.
Any other information pertaining to Pooch — such as funeral services or an Internet web site pertaining to remembering details about his life — had been unavailable to me at the time this article was written. I tried to wait until I found out more information before posting this article; but that never happened. I intend to edit and amend this article if any new information becomes available so that she may be properly remembered with a more fitting tribute.
In the meantime, my thoughts and prayers are with the family, friends and colleagues of Pooch. May she rest in peace…
