Sometimes you need an infusion of miles or points to your membership account for whatever reason — perhaps to have enough to redeem for a limited time award as one example — and the best time to purchase or gift miles or points is when they are on sale, as with this miles and points on sale for Friday, July 19 2024.
Miles and Points On Sale — July 19 2024
A sale may be a discount on the price required to purchase miles or points — or perhaps the frequent travel loyalty program from whom you are buying the miles or points will match your purchase up to 150 percent, which is another way of reducing the cost of miles or points.
Offers to purchase miles and points are not usually highlighted in their own articles here at The Gate With Brian Cohen. Rather, they are compiled in this article — typically whenever a new sale is announced or an old sale expires — so that you can shop for miles and points from different frequent travel loyalty programs conveniently in one spot and compare the sales to what you want or need.
Note that you may get a different offer from some of the frequent travel loyalty programs than what are posted in this article — especially when the offer is touted as a “mystery bonus” or some other vague term.

You only have until Tuesday, August 27, 2024 to take advantage of receiving a bonus of up to 30 percent more points on your purchase of Choice Privileges points with a minimum purchase of 6,000 Choice Privileges points in one transaction — and the maximum amount of points which you can purchase this year is 180,000 points as follows:
- Buy 6,000 to 13,000 Choice Privileges points = 20 percent bonus points
- Buy 14,000 to 17,000 Choice Privileges points = 25 percent bonus points
- Buy 18,000 to 180,000 Choice Privileges points = 30 percent bonus points
Hilton Honors: 100 Percent Bonus Points
You can receive a bonus of 100 percent on any purchase of a minimum of 5,000 Hilton Honors points — up to a maximum limit of 240,000 Hilton Honors — but you have until the end of the day on Tuesday, July 23, 2024 to take advantage of this offer.
Marriott Bonvoy: Up to 50 Percent Bonus Points
You can buy or gift a minimum of 2,000 Marriott Bonvoy points — up to a maximum total of 150,000 points — and get a bonus of up to 50 percent through Wednesday, July 24, 2024. The bonus is a mystery; so different members will receive different offers.
Wyndham Rewards: 35 Percent Discount
Starting with a minimum of 3,000 points, you can get a discount of 35 percent on your purchase of Wyndham Rewards points through Friday, August 9, 2024.
Air Canada Aeroplan: Up to 125 Percent Bonus Miles
In celebration of 40 years of Aeroplan, you can purchase or gift a minimum of 15,000 Aeroplan points and receive a bonus of up to 100 percent through today, Friday, July 19, 2024.
Air France and KLM Royal Dutch Airways Flying Blue: Up to 40 Percent Discount
Sharing the Flying Blue membership program are Air France, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, Transavia, Aircalin, and TAROM — plus, you can redeem Flying Blue miles for flights operated by many partner airlines. Until Sunday, August 4, 2024, you can purchase Flying Blue miles and receive a discount of up to 40 percent — Flying Blue members who have earned elite status may purchase up to 300,000 miles per transaction before the bonus is added; while other members may purchase a maximum of 100,000 miles.
Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan: Up to 60 Percent Bonus Miles
The regular price for purchasing Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan miles is $27.50 per 1,000 miles; but until Thursday, August 15, 2024 at 11:59 in the evening Pacific Daylight Time, you can purchase a minimum of 3,000 miles and receive a bonus of up to 60 percent more miles as follows:

American Airlines AAdvantage: Up to 35 Percent Discount
You can purchase or gift up to a maximum of 150,000 AAdvantage miles in order to receive a discount of up to 35 percent — for a cost of $3,668.44 for 150,000 miles — through the end of the day on Wednesday, July 31, 2024 as follows:
- Buy or gift 6,000 to 24,000 AAdvantage miles = 10 percent discount
- Buy or gift 25,000 to 79,000 AAdvantage miles = 15 percent discount
- Buy or gift 80,000 to 104,000 AAdvantage miles = 20 percent discount
- Buy or gift 105,000 to 149,000 AAdvantage miles = 25 percent discount
- Buy or gift 150,000 AAdvantage miles = 35 percent discount
Avianca LifeMiles: Up to 160 Percent Bonus Miles

Remember that each frequent travel loyalty program has partners through which you can redeem miles or points; so you are not confined just to the product offered by an airline or lodging company.
Also be sure to read the terms and conditions of each offer. Typically, all sales are final: once you have purchased your miles or points through these sales, you cannot return your points; and your money cannot be refunded.
