A sale may be a discount on the price required to purchase miles or points — or perhaps the frequent travel loyalty program from whom you are buying the miles or points will match your purchase up to 150 percent, which is another way of reducing the cost of miles or points.

Note that you may get a different offer from some of the frequent travel loyalty programs than what are posted in this article — especially when the offer is touted as a “mystery bonus” or some other vague term.

World of Hyatt: 20 Percent Discount
Until the end of the day on Tuesday, April 9, 2024, you can enjoy a discount of 20 percent on the purchase of a minimum of 5,000 World of Hyatt points — that is, spend a maximum of $1,056.00 to receive a total of 55,000 World of Hyatt points instead of spending $1,320.00.
Marriott Bonvoy: Up to 40 Percent Bonus Points
You can buy or gift a minimum of 2,000 Marriott Bonvoy points — up to a maximum total of 150,000 points — and get a bonus of 30 percent through Sunday, March 31, 2024. In an interesting twist, if you completed a stay at a participating Marriott hotel or resort property between Sunday, October 1, 2023 and Sunday, December 31, 2023, you are eligible to receive a bonus of 40 percent.
Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan: Up to 70 Percent Bonus Miles
The regular price for purchasing Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan miles is $27.50 per 1,000 miles; but until Wednesday, March 20, 2024, you can purchase a minimum of 3,000 miles and receive a bonus of up to 70 percent more miles as follows:
- Buy 3,000 to 14,000 Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan miles = 40 percent bonus Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan miles
- Buy 15,000 to 29,000 Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan miles = 55 percent bonus Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan miles
- Buy 30,000 to 100,000 Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan miles = 70 percent bonus Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan miles
American Airlines AAdvantage: Up to 35 Percent Discount
You can purchase or gift up to a maximum of 150,000 AAdvantage miles in order to receive a discount of up to 35 percent — for a cost of $3,668.44 for 150,000 miles — through the end of the day on Sunday, March 31, 2024 as follows:
- Buy or gift 3,000 to 4,000 AAdvantage miles = 10 percent discount
- Buy or gift 5,000 to 9,000 AAdvantage miles = 15 percent discount
- Buy or gift 10,000 to 24,000 AAdvantage miles = 20 percent discount
- Buy or gift 25,000 to 149,000 AAdvantage miles = 25 percent discount
- Buy or gift 150,000 AAdvantage miles = 35 percent discount
JetBlue Airways TrueBlue: 90 Percent Bonus Points
Until the end of the day on Sunday, March 31, 2024, you can purchase a minimum of 3,000 TrueBlue points and receive a bonus of 90 percent with JetBlue Airways.
Miles & More: 30 Percent Bonus Miles
Sharing the Miles & More membership program are Air Dolomiti, Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines, Discover, Eurowings, Lufthansa, SWISS, Croatia Airlines, LOT Polish Airlines, and Luxair — plus, you can redeem Miles & More miles for flights operated by many partner airlines. Until Sunday, March 31, 2024, you can purchase Lufthansa Miles & More miles and receive a bonus of 30 percent more miles when you purchase one of four Bundle&Go packages — all of which include a one-off bonus with hotels and cars by points, privileges on five vehicle rentals with Avis, and a one-off reduction on Priority Pass for lounge access at airports — as follows:
- Small Bundle = 13,000 Miles & More miles instead of 10,000
- Medium Bundle = 65,000 Miles & More miles instead of 50,000
- Large Bundle = 130,000 Miles & More miles instead of 100,000
Virgin Atlantic Airways Flying Club: Up to 70 Percent Bonus Miles
You can receive a bonus of up to 70 percent on Flying Club miles through Sunday, March 31, 2024 at midnight Greenwich Mean Time when you purchase a minimum of 5,000 Virgin Atlantic Airways Flying Club miles as follows:
- Buy 5,000 to 24,000 Flying Club miles = 20 percent bonus Flying Club miles

Remember that each frequent travel loyalty program has partners through which you can redeem miles or points; so you are not confined just to the product offered by an airline or lodging company.
Also be sure to read the terms and conditions of each offer. Typically, all sales are final: once you have purchased your miles or points through these sales, you cannot return your points; and your money cannot be refunded.
