The timing was serendipitous.

The timing of having monks in their saffron colored robes pose for photographs in Vat Visounnarath in Luang Prabang in Laos was completely coincidental and serendipitous, as we just happened to be visiting there when the opportunity to take a photograph occurred.

As with anyone else, monks are not to be disturbed with whatever they are doing — but as they were already posing for photographs, I could not miss this opportunity.

Trivia time: Vat Visounnarath is also known as Wat Wisunarat, which is one of a number of Buddhist temples in Luang Prabang in Laos and was founded in 1512.
