New Points Unlimited Promotion 2018 From Hilton Honors

This content has been archived. It may no longer be relevant

You can earn 2,000 bonus Hilton Honors points per stay in the new Points Unlimited promotion from Hilton Honors starting on Monday, January 1, 2018 through Monday, April 30, 2018 — plus you can earn an additional 10,000 bonus Hilton Honors points for every five completed stays, regardless of whether or not you have earned elite level status…

New Points Unlimited Promotion 2018 From Hilton Honors

…but you must first register for this promotion. prior to completing a stay during the promotion period.

As with past promotions, this promotion is so incredibly simple — when being told “no” repeatedly is a good thing — as there are:

  • No minimum stays are required to start earning
  • No minimum number of nights are required in your stay
  • No restrictions by nights, cities or brands — except for Hampton Inn hotel properties located in Mainland China, which are excluded from this promotion
  • No maximum limits as to how many bonus Hilton Honors points you can earn during the promotion period, as inferred by the name of the promotion itself

Examples of Earning Bonus Hilton Honors Points

Examples of how you can earn bonus Hilton Honors points during the Points Unlimited promotion — even on reward stays — include the following:

  • 1 stay = 2,000 bonus Hilton Honors points
  • 2 stays = 4,000 bonus Hilton Honors points
  • 5 stays = 20,000 bonus Hilton Honors points — note how the 10,000 point bonus kicks in here
  • 6 stays = 22,000 bonus Hilton Honors points
  • 10 stays = 40,000 bonus Hilton Honors points — this includes 20,000 bonus Hilton Honors points plus two 10,000 point bonuses

Participating Brands

All brands of the Hilton portfolio are participating in this promotion, which include:

Wi-Fi Access

Wi-Fi access is not free of charge in meeting spaces or at hotel or resort properties with a resort charge.

Although premium Wi-Fi access is available for a fee at selected properties — except for members of the Hilton Honors frequent guest loyalty program who have earned Diamond elite level VIP status — members of the Hilton Honors frequent guest loyalty program who book direct will enjoy free standard Wi-Fi access at any hotel or resort properties under the aforementioned brands participating in this promotion.

Select Terms and Conditions

Once you have registered for this promotion, you will only receive bonus Hilton Honors points for nights completed during the promotion period — regardless of whether you check in for your stay before the promotion period begins or check out of your stay after the promotion period ends.

There are restrictions on the amount of base Hilton Honors points which can be earned on a single stay at certain brands.

Bonus Hilton Honors points earned on base points do not count toward qualification of elite tier status.

Please allow up to eight weeks from completion of your stay for points to appear in your Hilton Honors account.

Other terms and conditions — including those pertaining to Hilton Honors discounts and those of the Hilton Honors frequent guest loyalty program — apply.

The new Points Unlimited promotion from Hilton Honors can actually be more rewarding than the current promotion — which offers double points per stay — for guests who typically pay less expensive room rates for stays of a short duration.

Additionally, only Hilton Honors members who have earned Diamond VIP elite level status were able to earn 10,000 bonus points with every ten stays during the current promotion. With the new Points Unlimited promotion, all members of the Hilton Honors frequent guest loyalty program get to earn 10,000 bonus points with every five stays.

If you tend to consistently pay more expensive room rates, you may well have benefited better with the current promotion than with the upcoming Points Unlimited promotion — unless you stay often enough, in which case the 10,000 bonus Hilton Honors points after every five stays kicks in — but the upcoming promotion is still not a disappointment, in my opinion.

I have already registered for this promotion. Be forewarned, however, that the link to frequently asked questions still addresses the current promotion and not the upcoming promotion at the time that this article was written. My contact at Hilton informed me that the team is aware of this and is currently updating the frequently asked questions, which should be available by tomorrow, Wednesday, December 20, 2017.

Members of the team at Hilton Honors have been doing a great job at offering creative promotions while simultaneously keeping them simple — unlike this new promotion offered by Marriott Rewards and this new promotion offered by Starwood Preferred Guest, as two examples…

  1. I so agree with your point of – in this case – “no” being a good thing. In recent IHG Accelerate promos, my rants have been about their determination to reach “no”. This loophole, that exclusion, and the worst is being told to wait until the promo is over, by weeks, for postings – which gives no opportunity for make-ups.

This one sounds good, and others have said it’s even for award stays.

    Thanks for the heads-up.

    1. Here is the official response I have received from one of my contacts who represents Hilton:

“Team members are usually eligible for our mass promotions, as long as they are signed up for Hilton Honors. That said, team members might want to double check with their manager/HR contact if they have specific questions or want to confirm.”

      I hope that helps, Marie.

  2. Well Brian, it sounds positive enough. I’ll check into it further then. Usually, because we have to make our bookings through the team site, we aren’t able to take advantage of those promotions.

  3. Brian I am hoping you can clarify….when enrolled in this challenge on points stay with eligible folio charge Can I also set my earnings preference to Points and Miles to combine the Hilton / Lufthansa Miles and More Promo ? Planning on 4 stays before the deadline March 25th . Starting late but have a diamond challenge that I want to complete the points unlimited before the deadline 30 April….

    1. Although I am not 100 percent certain, V1, I am thinking that you probably can stack those promotions together.

I can ask a contact at Hilton to confirm, if you like…

      1. That would be good …perhaps DCS ? could confirm him being the Hilton expert. I am thinking as I am not paying cash the points and points is invalid. Just knowing the promos are stackable would be good. First night tonight. Thanks in advance.

        1. I have submitted your request to one of my contacts at Hilton, V1.

When I receive a response, I will let you know.

        2. Good news for you, V1, as I received official confirmation from Hilton: the Points Unlimited promotion and Lufthansa promotion can be stacked, as long as you are registered for both promotions.

          1. Thank you for your quick reply …and confirmation.. Yes registered for both and booked total 5 stays before 25th… last stay booked for 24th ! Then just 5 more for Diamond challenge completion & to maximize the earnings ..Staying on points/pay nights Hilton Garden Inn Vienna… close to home and cheapest redemption here. Stacking the last points and miles option promo to the very end ! …

  4. Brian, after checking Flyertalk forums and Hilton T&Cs ….looks like Points…. Points/Cash stays do not earn Miles ! Stacking the promos as you confirmed is correct but my understanding is the stays must be paid to earn airline miles. If this is true then No Miles for me.

    1. The information which I relayed to you was directly from a representative of Hilton who is also an employee there, V1 — and this particular person has yet to impart inaccurate or incorrect information to me.

  5. I waited to see if the miles would post…they didn’t…So I contacted Hilton through twitter and their response was “the earning of points and miles with this promotion do not go with the earning of points and miles with Hilton Honors. The stays were made using points and money so this type of stay no partner currency or miles are awarded”. Should I follow up through other sources as I believe you had the correct information. Is there any other recourse in your opinion ? Points are posting..So far 8 nights so completed the status challenge. I now have Diamond thru March 31 2020 that’s the good news and will make 2 more nights to max out the 10 nights for the extra 10,000 points.

    1. Because I have not personally used the Points and Money option, V1, I submitted your question to one of my contacts at Hilton for a definitive answer.

      Please stay tuned…

    2. As promised, V1, here is the official answer from Hilton:

“On a Points & Money stay, a member would have been eligible to earn Hilton Honors Points on all paid charges; however partner currency (miles) would not be earned. That would have been the case through April 2, when Points & Miles were still being offered.”
