Noisy Musical Dripping Shower in Hotel Room. With Short Raw Video.

This can be potentially draining.

Design can enhance functionality aesthetically for the improvement of an experience; but sometimes when design takes priority over functionality, the results may not be the most efficient or effective — such as with a noisy musical dripping shower in a hotel room of which a short raw video was taken to record the sound.

The particular shower stall in question was at a newer Hampton Inn & Suites hotel property which had a long metal plate covering the drain underneath the adjustable shower head. The shower itself was fine while it was being used — but when the flow of the water was turned off once the shower had concluded, droplets from the shower head rained onto the metal plate below and created a cacophony of sound that did not stop until the very last droplet of water fell.

Final Boarding Call

Showers should be a relaxing experience to cleanse the body and not have to worry about any potential inconveniences. One example is the inexplicable partial shower partition found in the bathrooms of hotel rooms in Europe, in which many guests cannot seem to help but create a wet mess once their shower experience concludes.

If you happen to encounter the type of shower that was described in this article, be forewarned that the noise level is significantly louder than just a mere dripping of water, which can be annoying enough. You will need to close the door of the bathroom to mute the sound as much as possible — or perhaps drape a used towel over the metal plate.
