I decided on the chicken noodle soup over the black bean soup here at the Delta Sky Club on Concourse E at the international airport in Atlanta to tide me over until my flight to Amsterdam later this afternoon on my way to Nairobi. That, and some romaine lettuce, a mixture of olives, carrots, celery, broccoli, cauliflower, and a couple of chocolate chip cookies. The soup was nice and hot; but it could have used more noodles…
…and if you are wondering what I am doing in an airport lounge, do not be concerned: as with my unintentional trip around the world, every flight on this trip will be in a seat in the economy class cabin for me. I do not have a reservation at the Park Hyatt Paris-Vendôme; in fact, far from it, as I will be camping while on a safari for a few days.
The Sky Club was quite crowded when I arrived; but a significant number of people left, so it is not as chaotic. It is nice to have access to it — even if the flight from Washington, D.C. was uneventful and on time; and I was seated in the Economy Comfort section of the aircraft. In fact, the aircraft landed early. So much for my concern for inclement weather — and I am happy about that.
I have always liked this Sky Club over the others at the airport in Atlanta primarily for the views of the tarmac — such as the one at the top of this article. I actually have a better photograph with a Boeing 747-400 outside of the window. I do not have it with me; but perhaps I will post it in a future article some day.
Anyway, I am not certain as to when and where I will have access to the Internet over the next several days; but so far, this trip is going rather well. Please bear with me — and thank you…
