Renting a vehicle one way instead of returning it to the same rental car facility usually is rather expensive and rarely ever goes on sale; but several rental car companies are offering special rates for renting a vehicle one way as a result of the current 2019 Novel Coronavirus — which is also known as COVID-19 or 2019-nCoV or SARS-CoV-2 — pandemic.

One Way Rental Car Offers in the United States 2020 — 2019 Novel Coronavirus

The following is a list of rental car companies which are offering special rates for renting a vehicle one way within the United States — and keep in mind that for all offers, all standard age, driver and credit requirements apply. With every offer, other restrictions, terms, and conditions apply.

Budget Rent A Car System

Special rates on one-way rentals which are valid at participating locations within the United States through Thursday, April 30, 2020, as the offer rate of:

• $49.99 base rate per day applies to Economy and Compact vehicles
• $50.99 base rate per day applies to midsize vehicles
• $51.99 base rate per day applies to standard and full size vehicles
• $52.99 base rate per day applies to standard sport utility vehicles and intermediate sport utility vehicles
• $54.99 base rate per day applies to standard elite sport utility vehicles

• Rates require a minimum 1- to maximum 28-consecutive-day rental period.
• Offers may not be available during holiday and other blackout periods; rate surcharges during peak periods may apply.

Summary

Keep in mind that because of the current 2019 Novel Coronavirus pandemic, some locations of facilities may be open limited hours per day or be closed altogether until further notice.

Also, remember not to return your vehicle after hours when you are finished, as the rental period may continue until the next time the facility is open, which could be days — and you will likely be charged for them.

Finally, several rental car companies have offered college students the option of renting a vehicle without having to pay up to $30.00 extra per day to do so solely because of their ages, as the fees for young adults to rent a vehicle have been waived — which lowers the minimum age of who is qualified to rent a vehicle — but this offer is for a limited time only.
