The evening had given way to darkness long ago on that cool October evening; and after a long day, I wanted something quick, delicious, inexpensive, and close to the hotel property at where I was staying. Pastakio in Timișoara in Romania seemed initially like an odd choice; but because the time was late and few other places were open, it ultimately was the best choice.
Pastakio in Timișoara in Romania. Restaurant Review.
The entrance was almost inconspicuous. Save for a fold out sign and an illuminated sign, Pastakio was not the easiest restaurant to find.
The dining establishment bills itself as “Fresh Pasta to Go”; but a few tables are located inside for anyone who wants to eat their meals on premises. An illuminated menu is displayed behind the counter; and customers can customize their orders.
The type of desired pasta can be chosen through a window underneath the counter top.
The wait was approximately 30 minutes or so; but it was well worth it. The spicy tagliatelle arrabiata pasta did not disappoint at all. It was hot, fresh, delicious, inexpensive, and filling.
The spinach tagliatelle with salmon was amazing. The pasta was the perfect texture. The photograph does not do the portion justice — the bowl contained a lot of food, which was left over until several hours later.
Final Boarding Call
I recommend dining at Pastakio as a good place to dine on fresh pasta dishes. The food was very good; the ambiance was nice and clean; and the prices were reasonable for the quantity of food that was provided. The total for the entire meal was $15.36 in United States dollars.
Pastakio is located almost one block north of Piața Unirii in the city center of Timișoara.
