An airport lounge is for someone who has either paid for — or earned — the privilege to escape from the crowds of the terminals and gates while simultaneously indulging in such amenities as food and beverages, comfortable places to relax, cleaner and more stylish washrooms with shower facilities, an assortment of reading materials, access to better Wi-Fi and other technologies, and a view of the airport where one can simply watch airplanes either take off or land…

…but one airport lounge also offers an unusual amenity: an infinity pool in which to swim. That lounge is the VIP Lounge in Terminal B opposite of gates 5 and 6 at Punta Cana International Airport in the Dominican Republic.
Just imagine soaking in both the rays of the sun and the cool water of the swimming pool as you await your flight…
…while ironically overlooking an assortment of low-cost airlines — including Spirit Airlines, JetBlue Airways, Southwest Airlines, Sun Country Airlines, Air Canada Rouge and TUI as the buses line up in front of the airplanes to discharge passengers to the airplanes on which they will fly.
Chairs and tables line around the infinity swimming pool if you wish to bring your food and beverages outside.
A floor mat awaits at the other end of the infinity swimming pool on which visitors can dry their feet faster.

Yes, you may indulge yourself in a shower after your time in the infinity swimming pool…
…which, by the way, does have its own set of rules — such as not diving or bombing into a swimming pool whose depth is four feet at the maximum.
The lounge itself has several sections. Most of the lounge was empty when I visited earlier this month.
Each section has its own decor and different types of furniture.
The furniture is reasonably comfortable; and a full bar is available across from the food.
A limited selection of food items is on display — assorted breads were on display near the window overlooking the infinity swimming pool between the food and the bar — but the food items were mostly mediocre at best, in my opinion.
Summary
When I go into a swimming pool, I like to stay in it for a while — but even for the person who does not mind taking a quick dip in the pool prior to showering, a suitable receptacle of some sort is still necessary for lugging a wet bathing suit aboard an airplane…
…and I suppose that the infinity swimming pool is especially useful for someone who did not have access to a swimming pool while staying in the Dominican Republic.
If you are a member of Priority Pass, you have access to this airport lounge, which is open seven days per week from 8:00 in the morning through 9:00 in the evening — and although it beats having to sit in a noisy gate in a noisy terminal, I personally would not recommend going out of my way to spend more time at this airport lounge…
…unless, of course, you plan on using the infinity swimming pool — but here is the kicker: all guests can stay for a maximum limit of only two hours.
