Reindeer in Finland can cross the road on which motorists drive; so one must be extra alert and take care — especially in the Laplands area of the northern part of the country.

The reindeer would obviously not wait around for me to get my camera out and attach the telephoto lens; so I had to capture these images with my smartphone. One reindeer in the photograph shown above was suspiciously staring right at me and ready to speed away at what it perceives to be the first sign of danger.
Final Boarding Call
The Sunday before Chanukah seemed like an obvious time to feature reindeer. Coincidentally, today is also the Sunday before Christmas.
