Viewing stars in the night sky in the Outback of Australia is arguably the best place in the world to do so. Low humidity, virtually no light pollution, and bearable temperatures all contribute to an amazing astronomical experience.

One can almost reach up and touch the stars — as if to grab some from the sky. They seem so close and so…real.
The Southern Cross can be seen at the bottom of the photograph below. When you see the Southern Cross for the first time, you understand now why you came this way.
