Note: Stupid Tip of the Day is a not-so-new regular feature of The Gate which will not be featured regularly — if at all — after today…or maybe not; but I am thinking of changing the name of this series, which depicts advice that is so well hidden in plain sight that it may seem too obvious to impart and that everyone probably knows about it, leading the person giving the advice to think that someone else might think it is actually stupid — and have second thoughts about giving it after all. Suggestions for changing the name of this series are welcomed; so please post them in the Comments section below.
Y ou know you read that article from one of the weblogs at BoardingArea; but you do not remember who wrote it or on what day it was posted.
If for whatever reason you are unsuccessful in searching for that seemingly elusive article at BoardingArea, there are at least two methods that you may want to consider employing which I have outlined below on how to search for content posted at BoardingArea:
Use Milepoint to Find the BoardingArea Article
You can use Milepoint as a “back-door” way to find articles posted at BoardingArea. Simply head on over to Milepoint, access the forums, and follow these easy instructions…
Scroll down to the Newsstand forum and hover your cursor over Sub-Forums; and a pop-up menu with two choices will appear. Choose Blogstand.
Once you get to Blogstand, you will see a list of BoardingArea articles, starting with the most recent. On the top right is the word Search with a text field.
I typed in the word United as an example; and anything you type will automatically cause the Search pop-up menu to appear. Ensure that Search This Forum Only is selected. Select Search Titles Only as an option if you are sure that the search term appeared in the title.
Click on the Search button; and the search results will appear accordingly.
Tack On the Term BoardingArea When Using an Internet Search Engine
If you use an Internet search engine — Google, for example — and you are searching for an article which has to deal with United, simply add the term BoardingArea to the search term you wish to use.
Summary
Hopefully, these simple tips will help you to find those articles posted at BoardingArea significantly easier.
