I arrived very early for my reservation as a guest at the DoubleTree by Hilton Luxembourg, which is located just north of the city center — and the weather was ideal for walking on that day in September; so I parked the car which I rented in the Netherlands in the parking lot of the hotel property and walked approximately 55 minutes from there to the heart of the capital city…
Sunday Morning Photograph July 10 2022: Street Light in Luxembourg.
…and along the way, I approached the overpass for Rue Auguste Laval — which is also known as highway E421 — as I was walking along a narrow street called Raspert, which parallels a small river named Alzette; and I noticed an unusual red street light which seemed to have two legs.
The street light just seemed unusual to me — especially from the perspective of being below it — so I took photographs of it.
Final Boarding Call
The city of Luxembourg has some interestingly unusual infrastructure — and even though public transportation is available to both residents and visitors free of charge throughout the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, the best way to see it is by taking the time to walk, as it is the most environmental way of getting around. For me, walking was great exercise; and I got the opportunity to see and experience things one does not normally see with other modes of transportation.
