Sunday Morning Photograph July 3 2022: Vanšu Tilts in Latvia.
…but on one cold snowy morning, the view from the east entrance of the Akmens Tilts — which translates to Stone Bridge in English — seemed almost rather eerie with the way a huge low dark cloud seemed to descend on both Ķīpsala Island and Vanšu Tilts as if it were to completely envelop them…
…and yet, the sky was clear and blue in the distance.
The lens on my camera was not in need of cleaning, as the dark specks which are visible in the photographs are actually large snowflakes which were falling at the time the photographs were taken — appearing as though they were black snowflakes or particles from some kind of dystopian nuclear fallout.
Final Boarding Call
What started as a gloomy and dreary yet peaceful and calm morning in the capital city of Latvia — complete with a weather phenomenon which is known as graupel as I walked out of the hotel property at which I stayed overnight — became a warm and sunny afternoon, vibrant with local residents and visitors alike who came out to experience what the largest city in the country had to offer on that day.
