As I was driving in on a highway from Bosnia and Herzegovina, I noticed the sunset as I was arriving in Split in Croatia — and because we were descending from the mountains, we had a great view towards the west of the sun setting in the distance…

…so I turned onto a ramp to exit the highway and found a spot at which to pull over and take photographs until after the sun had completely set prior to checking in to our lodging option for the evening.

Trivia time: Although it is the largest city both on the coast of Croatia and in the region of Dalmatia, Split is the second largest city in that country.
