Final Boarding Call
Click on the links of the names of the lodging companies near the beginning of this article to find out the answers. How do you think you did on the quiz?
Some of the hotel brands listed above are rather obvious as to which lodging company they belong; but others are certainly not so obvious.
I did not include such lodging companies as Meliá Hotels and Resorts, which has a limited footprint; or casino companies whose brands are as few as one hotel property — but imagine how many more brands exists as a result in the lodging industry.
Apparently, the following brands are either no longer associated with the nine multinational lodging brands; have been repurposed; or they have simply ceased to exist altogether since the version of this article from December of 2019, which reported that 27 brands were added:
- Exhale Spa and Fitness
- The House of Originals is now known as Morgans Originals
- Joie de Vivre is now known as JdV
- Vacation Rentals by Choice
- Wyndham Vacation Rentals
Two additional brands which are missing from the most recent version of this article in December of 2022 include:
- Cottages.com
- Landal GreenParks
Do too many hotel brands exist? Does enough differentiation exist between some of those brands? I want to know your thoughts about hotel brands if you could please post them in the Comments section below…
