We arrived via airplane into Las Vegas somewhat late at night at the beginning of a business trip for a client. We were hungry and wanted something quick and convenient but decent to eat. As the room where I was staying was in Delano Las Vegas, The Noodle Shop in the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino Las Vegas property seemed like a good choice.
The Noodle Shop in Las Vegas. Restaurant Review.
Due to the late hour, the restaurant was rather empty — but it appeared to be quite clean and inviting.
The crispy Vegetable Spring Rolls were very good and accompanied by a couple of ramekins of dipping sauces. $11.88
The Shiitake Kombu Broth of the Vegan Noodle Soup was somewhat bland in flavor; but the bok choy was quite fresh. Colorful carrots, broccoli, scallions, and mushrooms were cooked almost perfectly. A little chili oil was just what was needed to elevate this dish. $18.88.
The Drunken Noodles with shrimp was quite interesting — and rather spicy. The flat rice noodles had a nice texture and were accompanied by Thai Chili, Gai Lan, and Basil. I had wished that this dish had more noodles and less of almost everything else. $26.88.
The Thai Chili was incredibly spicy. Proceed with caution at your own risk.
Final Boarding Call
We did not order any alcoholic beverages, as none of us were interested in them — nor did we order dessert.
The dining experience of The Noodle Shop was quite good overall, with prompt, attentive, and excellent service. The ambiance was nice and comfortable — especially as we sat in a booth. Although the prices are slightly more expensive than I would have liked, I recommend dining here if you want a reasonably quick meal of delicious Pan-Asian food.
Reservations are highly recommended when dining at The Noodle Shop if you are part of a large group. Otherwise, you should be able to walk right on in — or perhaps wait in line for a few minutes for a table.
