Prior to traveling as a passenger aboard an airplane on a domestic flight from Ushuaia to Buenos Aires, I was actually able to experience the W Lounge at Ushuaia – Malvinas Argentinas International Airport, which is the southernmost airport lounge in the world.

After finally being cleared from the wait list and showing my credentials, we were admitted into the lounge, which was under construction — so only part of the lounge was actually open.

A selection of cold beverages were available in the refrigerators and hot beverages from a coffee machine above the refrigerators; while a limited assortment of food was set out on a wrinkled gray tablecloth on the table.

The food — which consisted of slices of bread, two types of sliced cold cut meats, sliced cheese, ersatz croissants, carrot sticks, tiny muffins, and some sort of empanada was not very appetizing to me.

Expansive windows allowed for views of airplanes and the runway outside from the very small lounge, which potentially could have caused some people to be claustrophobic if the windows were not there.

The orange brown seats on the left in the photograph were extremely low when sitting in them. I thought I was going to hit the floor with my rear end. Getting out of those chairs proved to be somewhat of a struggle.

At least the lounge had an illuminated schedule board with the flights listed on it — as well as a small decorated Christmas tree.

Final Boarding Call
As the W Lounge was under construction while I was there, I do not know what the experience is like when the complete lounge is available. My experience is nothing extraordinary in any way — but the lounge was quiet; and Wi-Fi was available. No toilets were available in the lounge; so occupants had to leave to use the public toilets. Do not expect to fill up on a meal in this lounge. I barely ate anything while I was there.
The W Lounge in Ushuaia – Malvinas Argentinas International is located in front of security control near Gate 6 for domestic flights only. No children are permitted in the lounge. Smoking is not allowed in the lounge.
The W lounge is open from the first flight to the last flight. No specific hours were scheduled.
