This is One of the Best Priority Pass Lounges In the World. Airport Lounge Review.

As I have Sky Priority elite status with airlines that are members of the SkyTeam alliance, I was disappointed when I found out that no SkyTeam lounge existed in the airport in which we were awaiting a flight to Luang Prabang in Laos; but a lounge which is a member of the Priority Pass network was available — and I have to say that this is one of the best Priority Pass lounges in the world.

The lounge to which I am referring is Angkor Lounge at Siem Reap-Angkor International Airport in Cambodia. Immediately after we were warmly greeted at the front desk, we were granted access to the lounge.

As Siem Reap-Angkor International Airport was officially opened for operations on Monday, October 16, 2023, the lounge was still relatively new — and immaculately clean.

Included in the spacious lounge is a full service bar and comfortable assorted seating.

Universal electrical outlets — as well as both Universal Serial Bus Type A and Type C ports — were plentiful throughout the lounge. Complimentary Wi-Fi access to the Internet worked well.

An illuminated monitor displayed the schedule of flights that were departing — but to me, the food was the star of this stylish and clean lounge.

One can absolutely enjoy a meal with no fewer than seven hot food items that were offered in this lounge.

A refrigerated unit that contained cans of carbonated beverages and bottles of water were available; so one was not required to go to the full service bar to get a cold drink without alcohol.

The cutlery was laid out on its own separate counter and partially covered by cloth, which I thought was a nice touch.

Ingredients for a Niçoise salad were available — including lettuce, cucumbers, tomatoes, hard boiled eggs, black olives, chick peas, and slivered carrots; and at least four types of dressings for the salad.

…as were huge fresh dark grapes and sliced fresh pineapple.

I did not have any of the Chicken Ham & Cheese sandwiches; but the Tuna Sandwich was surprisingly good — and apparently popular.

I did not try the Pumpkin Cream Soup; but I enjoyed the Fish Soup had large meaty portions of fish in a clear broth with vegetables.

I am not particularly fond of egg salad; but both the Tomato Egg mayo and Wrap roll Vegetables — both of which comprised of fresh produce — were good.

My favorite hot dish was the wok-fried fish with ginger, which was outstandingly flavorful and quite satisfying, in my opinion.

A choice of steamed rice and fried rice were offered. I actually liked the fried rice and paired it with the aforementioned fish.

Other hot dishes that were offered during my visit to this lounge included Potato Au Gratin…

…and Beef Lok lak.

Cold food items also included Baguet Avocado and Tomato Mozzarella…

At least five different varieties of cakes were offered — and they were fresh and full of flavor. Yes, I did sample each of them.

Several flavors of muffins were also available…

The washrooms were clean and modern — and they were nicely decorated — but they were not equipped with shower facilities.

The lounge has a patio outdoors at which visitors can relax — but the combination of the temperature of the air and the significant amount of humidity can feel too stifling and oppressive to enjoy.

Final Boarding Call

My only criticism of Angkor Lounge is that I wished that the overall ambient temperature was cooler — but then again, the temperature of the air was similar to that of the remainder of the small airport.

Angkor Lounge at Siem Reap-Angkor International Airport in Cambodia is located airside at International Departures, Level 3, Concourse 1 of what is known as the West Finger — pass through the Zero Duty-Free shopping area — between Gate 1 and Gate 3. Angkor Lounge participates in Priority Pass — as well as other networks such as American Express.

Angkor Lounge is open from 6:00 in the morning until 9:00 in the evening every day. All passengers must be traveling and hold a valid boarding pass in order to access this lounge. Smoking is not allowed in the lounge except in a designated smoking area.
