Toilet Problems Forces Airplane Full of Plumbers to Turn Around
…but flushed with irony is that of the 85 passengers aboard that airplane who are involved with the plumbing industry in Norway, as many as 70 of them were plumbers from a company called Rørkjøp.
“We would have liked to have fixed the restrooms, but unfortunately it had to be done from the outside and we did not take the opportunity to send a plumber in line at 10,000 meters”, Frank Olsen — who is the chief executive officer of Rørkjøp — told Dagbladet as according to this article, which is in Norwegian.
The atmosphere aboard the airplane was reportedly “sporty and good” and probably filled with laughter which could not be piped down — despite the delay which ensued as a result of having to turn the airplane around to fix the toilet problem.

A Norwegian flight with 84 plumbers on board turned back to Oslo this weekend because a problem with the toilets.

Summary
Tank goodness that the safety of the passengers was not compromised during this incident, as that would have thrown another wrench into the operations of this flight — and that could have caused members of the flight crew to be drained as a result — but mechanical issues aboard airplanes is like shooting craps: you never know what might be problem number one or problem number two…
…but a flight is usually a success anyway as long as the airplane does not plunge from the sky.
I have found no reports of other flights being backed up in the commercial aviation system as a result of this incident — nor were airports clogged with passengers.
I lava stories like this one; but as they cause me to sink to a new low, I will put a lid on this one right now and not write about any more cracks regarding plumbers…
