Tripodon Street in Athens in Greece is considered to be the oldest street in the city because a large part of it coincides exactly with the ancient road and maintains the same name. At six meters wide and 800 meters long, it used to be one of the widest streets of ancient Athens.

I simply enjoyed walking down this historic street, which started from Prytanio in the Agora to reach the theater of Dionysus. Here is where the Athenians walked by to watch the performances of the works of the ancient writers.

On Tripodon street, the sponsors — rich Athenians who took over the organization of theatrical performances in ancient Greece — placed the bronze or gold-plated tripod that they received as a prize if their work won in the annual theatrical contest.
