Watch out for an annoying pricing glitch at this resort property in Mexico, upon which I stumbled while I was researching information for a different article.
Watch Out For Annoying Pricing Glitch at This Resort Property
The Paraiso de la Bonita, a Luxury Collection Resort, Riviera Maya, Adult All-Inclusive property is actually affiliated with Marriott International, Incorporated — but I was accessing the official direct Internet web site of the resort property itself to do some research.
I initially entered the check in date as Thursday, April 17, 2025 and the date to check out as Monday, April 21, 2025, which priced out at $795.00 per night for a total starting at $3,180.00 for those four nights…
…so when I used the flexible calendar to check the rates in future months, I initially found plenty of days with rates as low as $148.00 per night, which would be significantly less expensive than the dates I found in April…
…but when I randomly selected Thursday, May 8, 2025 through Monday, May 12, 2025, not only did those rates suddenly increase significantly to $601.00 per night; but the rates of the other nights jumped up several hundred dollars more per night as well.
I was able to reliably replicate this glitch repeatedly in two separate browsers.
Checking those same dates at the official Internet web site of Marriott for the same resort property priced the aforementioned dates in April of 2025 as $755.00 per night for members of the Marriott Bonvoy membership program. This rate is $40.00 less expensive per night — at a total of $3,020.00 for the room — and can be canceled with no penalty no later than 30 days prior to the start of the reservation.
If you are not already a member of the Marriott Bonvoy membership program, you can join as a member now at no charge.
Final Boarding Call
I have no plans to travel to Mexico at this time — but I wanted to alert you to this glitch if you planned on staying at this resort property.
The solution to this issue is simple: avoid the direct web Internet web site of the resort property itself and book your reservations through Marriott instead.
This is also a lesson to always check and compare rates between multiple sites of the same hotel or resort property, as you can potentially save yourself hundreds of dollars by doing so.
