What Is Wrong With This Photograph? Part 245

Ramping up to what direction in which you are going...

For this edition of this popular game, can you guess what you believe is wrong — or, at least, seemingly quite bizarre — with this photograph part 245?

I pulled over onto the shoulder of the westbound lanes of Georgia State Highway 316 in Bethlehem to take the following photograph.

  1. The photo uses a long telephoto lens because it distorts the exit as a sharp right. That’s not what’s wrong with the photo.

What wrong is that the exit sign doesn’t show the direction of Highway 81, such as east or west or towards which town. That’s probably because Highway 81 is a small road.

The words “Loganville Highway” are not well centered.

  2. I suspect it’s just the angle of the shot, but if you follow the right shoulder (tan/brown with lighter colored crosslines) up toward the exit, it makes the exit lane appear to be just a few feet wide. (Note the solid white lane marking that runs toward the ends of the guard rail barrier before the concrete wall.)

    1. The overhead sign for Hwy 81/Loganville Hwy is too close to the actual exit. This sign is actually several hundred feet back up the road.
