  1. Odd…really odd. Not sure what this diagonally-lined space is currently meant to be used for, but it sure isn’t parking (despite the 3 meters on the sidewalk curb). The top picture in this post provides some important context; parking “bumpers”/stops completely surround this lined space. It appears there may have been 3 metered spaces for parallel parking here at one time (just like the space where the red SUV is parked — although the road surface gives no hint of any lining for this. It’s a head scratcher!

  2. What’s wrong? Multi-modal vision zero urbanist planning crap. I can just see the PowerPoint deck lauding the “improvements” to Truman road because they made the crossing distance shorter so it’s “safer” and this is what you end up with.

  3. Maybe nothing wrong? At first glance, you’ve got parking meters where there’s no way for a car to park at the curb. But on closer inspection, the painted lines on the left of the photos, on the far side of the bollards, designate three parking spaces. (Verified on google street view, thanks for including the location). So those three meters are to pay for parking in those three slightly-far-away spots.
