I enjoyed my recent visit to the state capitol building in Wyoming, which included interesting exhibits for visitors — but one presentation seemed off to me; and I am wondering if what I noticed is something that is actually wrong; or that perhaps I missed something.

Answer to What is Wrong With This Photograph? Part 357
This photograph was taken while I was in the elevator at the Spark by Hilton Montreal Midtown Québec Canada hotel property, of which you can read about my experience in this article.
If an amended instruction that Floor 1 is actually the second floor — 2e étage means second floor in French — is necessary, then should the original 1 button be replaced with a 2 and the 0 button be replaced with a 1?
Favorite answer by derek: “The photo is confusing because it uses a hybrid English speaking North America and translated Quebec system.
“1/2e etage is one of the ways done in Quebec. 1 is for the usual system common in the U.S., Toronto-Vancouver. 2e etage for 2 in the translated French way but the system is not uniform. Some other buildings might use the RC/G for rez de chaussee/ground, 1, and 2e etage in the elevator, but not in this photo.”
Favorite comment by Jim F.: “I imagine the hotel is trying to avoid confusion among guests who aren’t accustomed to the ground floor being designated Floor 0 and the floor above (what Americans call ‘2nd floor’ being designated Floor 1…but I’m not sure the attempt is successful. ‘2 etage,’ of course, means ‘Floor 2’ in French…but Quebec natives (who can be expected to read French signage) are likely to be confused; to them, ‘2 etage’ is the floor equivalent to the American 3rd floor. But does anyone else wonder why there’s a blank spot for another floor above that when the hotel doesn’t have one?”
