I recently experienced two hotel rooms which had a window between the bathroom and the bedroom — and they were not the first hotel rooms with this “feature”. Why would anyone design a hotel room that way?
Why Do Some Hotel Rooms Have a Window Between the Bathroom and the Bedroom?

A large clear pane of glass was basically all that separated the bathroom from the bedroom at the DoubleTree By Hilton Taipei Zhongshan hotel property in Taiwan. From the bedroom, one can clearly see the bathtub…

…and from the bathtub, one can clearly see the bedroom. The large pane of glass had no shade or curtain to obscure the view if privacy was a concern.

Thankfully, the glass doors to both the shower stall and toilet stall were frosted and translucent — but again, one can clearly view the bedroom from the bathroom.

At the Hyatt Regency Taoyuan International Airport hotel property in Taiwan, two panes of glass separated the bedroom from the bathroom — but at least those panes of glass were frosted and translucent and not completely transparent.
Final Boarding Call
If two or more people occupy a room, privacy could be a concern. Even if one person were sleeping in the bed and another person simply needed to brush his or her teeth, the light in the bathroom can potentially disturb the person who is asleep.
Is the window pane between the bathroom and the bedroom supposed to infer the perception of a larger and more spacious room?
What exactly is the benefit of having a window between the bathroom and the bedroom in a hotel room?
