Why This Boeing 747-451 Airplane Crossed the Road

A  Boeing 747-451 crossed the road — more specifically, Woolman Place and Toffie Terrace at the northern edge of the international airport which serves the greater Atlanta metropolitan area — on Saturday, April 30, 2016 to its new permanent home: a site on the grounds of the Delta Flight Museum; and that event was teased in this article which I wrote the next day.

I was fortunate to have been at the Delta Flight Museum earlier today, Tuesday, March 28, 2017 for the official grand opening of the Boeing 747-451 to the public — and I took plenty of photographs inside, outside and under the aircraft.

This gigantic exhibit is the latest addition to the Delta Flight Museum, which also has several other real airplanes on site; and anyone can now visit it.

Remember the spot which I photographed that would eventually become the final resting place for the airplane?

Here is that same exact spot as of today:

What a difference, eh?

For additional information pertaining to the Delta Flight Museum, I wrote a series of articles which contain plenty of photographs:

Summary — For Now

I have plenty more photographs and videos to sort through in addition to the ones I already have but have not yet posted in an article; but until then, this little teaser will have to do until I can get a more comprehensive article written…
