Would You Pay Almost $200.00 For a Bottle of Water?

Y ou could soon have the opportunity to purchase a bottle of water in the United Arab Emirates for 700 dirhams — or approximately $196.53, if you count a typical credit card rate of three percent — but it will not be an ordinary bottle of water, as it is expected to be in the shape of Burj Khalifa, which is currently the tallest building in the world.

Additionally, the bottle — whose volume will reportedly be 750 milliliters — will be made of K9 crystal; encrusted with platinum and diamonds; and will feature light emitting diodes from which the water will glowing in blue, according to this article posted at HotelierMiddleEast.com.

Of the profits to be generated from selling the bottles of water, 2.5 percent is expected to benefit Emirates Noble Palms, which is a charity founded by Tayseer Hadi — who is originally from Denmark and invented the most expensive water bottle in the world — which allows donors to see the impact of their donations.

Summary

I do not understand why someone would pay almost $200.00 for a bottle of water — that is almost double the cost of premium admission in Burj Khalifa itself, which is not worth the money — but it might be interesting to see someone attempt to pass it through an airport security checkpoint operated by the Transportation Security Administration…

…and yes, I am aware that Terminal 3 at Abu Dhabi International Airport is equipped with a pre-clearance facility operated by personnel of Customs and Border Protection of the United States, as I have passed through there more than once — but I digress.

To answer the question which is the title of this article: no, I would not pay almost $200.00 for slightly greater than 25 fluid ounces of water.

In fact, I have a difficult enough time paying five dollars for a bottle of water beyond the security checkpoint at an airport — let alone $200.00…
