With free entry into national parks in Canada for the summer of 2025, you have unlimited opportunities to visit any of the national parks of Parks Canada from coast to coast without having to pay any admission fee between Friday, June 20, 2025 and Tuesday, September 2, 2025.
Free Entry Into National Parks in Canada
You read that correctly — you will not be required to pay an entrance fee this summer when visiting national parks, national marine conservation areas, and national historic sites in Canada. No entry pass or ticket is required to visit during the free admission period. Parks Canada staff will continue to welcome visitors at gates and visitor centers.
As an added incentive, a discount of 25 percent on fees for camping and overnight stays is also being offered during the same time period.
Final Boarding Call
I visited both Banff National Park and Jasper National Park in Alberta in 2017; and I obtained my Discovery Pass for 2017 at the entrance on the Trans Canada Highway. There was no line; the interaction only took minutes; I was given a variety of printed materials which included a map; and the person in the booth was friendly and welcoming. The process could not have been easier for me…
…except that for the summer 2025, you do not even need to obtain a pass at all.
Get yourself to Canada this summer and enjoy its national parks free of charge. You will especially not regret visiting Banff National Park if you enjoy nature and the wilderness — as well as beautiful scenery and breathtaking views…
