If you are planning to travel to Parque Nacional Rapa Nui — which is the national park of Easter Island in Chile — be prepared to pay more for your visit, as the admission fee to the legendary island has increased effective as of Wednesday, October 1, 2025.
Admission Fee to Easter Island Increased in October of 2025

Current ticket prices are as follows:
- International visitors:
- Adults: $100.00 in United States dollars
- Children: $40.00 in United States dollars
- Domestic visitors in Chile:
- Adults: $40,000.00 in Chilean pesos
- Children: $20,000.00 in Chilean pesos
Conditions of the ticket remain unchanged, as it is valid for ten consecutive days from the date of issue; and it will allow a single entry to Rano Raraku and Orongo.
The ticket may be purchased either on arrival at the airport or in the center of town of Hanga Roa, which is the only municipality on Easter Island.
Members of the Ma’u Henua indigenous community on Isla de Pascua — who are the official custodians of Easter Island — voted to adjust the ticket prices as a result of needing to maintain a balance between the development of tourism and the conservation of the heritage of Rapa Nui. This adjustment — which is aligned with current access standards in other international parks and heritage destinations — allows the conservation of archaeological sites to be strengthened, improve infrastructure, optimize tourism services, enhance environmental control, and create more employment opportunities for the members of the Rapa Nui community.
As a significant example of the aforementioned imbalance, a fire which swept across 250 acres of the lower slopes of a volcanic crater known as Mauŋa Terevaka caused irreparable damage back in autumn of 2022 to a number of the 887 famed stone statues in the area where they were created and resulted in the closure of the island to visitors. Rano Raraku was once a quarry for approximately 500 years, as it was the source of the stone which was used for carving most of the known monolithic sculptures known as moai on the island — and visitors can enter it only once during their time on Easter Island. Some of the moai were never finished.
The fire was thought to have been deliberately set by a human being.
Final Boarding Call

The cost per ticket was $80.00 when I visited Parque Nacional Rapa Nui; so the new fee represents an increase of 25 percent for adults who are not based in Chile.
Although $100.00 per person is not inexpensive, that amount of money is worth every penny to ensure that future generations of visitors can appreciate the moai for years to come.
