The sky was clear and the humidity was low as the airplane descended, which revealed a clear aerial view of Midtown Atlanta moments prior to landing at the airport.

At the center of the photograph is Atlantic Station and the northern interchange of Interstate 75 and Interstate 85, which combine as one highway known as The Connector through the center of Atlanta. The world headquarters of Coca-Cola is the bright tan building just to the right of the bottom center of the photograph; and behind it is the campus of Georgia Institute of Technology, which is better known as Georgia Tech. Buckhead is the cluster of buildings in the upper center of the photograph; and the squiggly line of buildings between Buckhead and the aforementioned interchange is Peachtree Street, which becomes Peachtree Road towards Buckhead.

Trivia time: Georgia Institute of Technology was founded greater than 140 years ago on Tuesday, October 13, 1885. Its vehicular mascot is known as the Ramblin’ Wreck from Georgia Tech, a replica of which is shown in the photograph to the left.
